Toll Infrastructure and value-added services – requirements, chances and potentials

As a part of Dresden University’s expert conference ‘toll infrastructure and value added services’, Satellic is going to offer a live demo of the satellite-based toll system with the satellic demonstration bus. The expert conference will discuss the political and legal frameworks as well as technological possibilities and requirements for toll infrastructure, thus trying to derive impulses for the future use of value-added services and telematics applications.

Efficient traffic infrastructures are the backbone of today’s societies. They are indispensable for both social life as well as efficient organization of competitive business processes. The introduction of a road charge for heavy trucks in Germany has spawned discussion among policy makers, business and specialists on how to ideally use the technological infrastructure such as hard- and software as well as the data collected for advanced telemetric functions of different modes of transport.

Therefore, the discussion is centred on matters of the current and future positions of the EU, a possible road charge for passenger cars, the technological basis for toll systems, expected value added services, data security, etc.

The expert conference is aimed at decision makers among the public authorities, traffic- and logistics companies, telecommunications and telemetrics scientists and engineers as well as a specialist audience.
