Our tracking and tracing solution offers vehicle position and monitors the movement profile for certain signatures e.g. entrance / leave of defines zones, high kilometre readings in short or unusual time intervals. As data privacy is a highly sensitive issue and with the expertise in operating privacy sensitive applications and data centres especially for public customers, Satellic is an ideal partner.
Therefore our solution generally aggregate as much as possible data on the OBU (smart client approach) in contrast to other solutions that do the aggregation in a data centre.
Satellics tracking and tracing techniques are typically applied directly by fleet operators for vehicle maintenance or to optimise logistic processes but also for more complex value added services such as:
- Dangerous goods tracking
Tracking transports of dangerous goods and living animals as a typical VAD driven by a public authority. The service might include the monitoring of environmental conditions (trailer temperature and humidity) and movement of profiles (breaks, trip length).
- Insurance Solutions
Insurance companies are moving from static contracts towards scenarios that include an automatic rating of the vehicle’s risk level and subsequently to enable the automatic application of an appropriate insurance tariff. This includes usage behaviour, driving style and kilometres travelled.
- Electronic Vehicle Logbooks
Electronic vehicle logbooks allow the user to enter additional trip information that is either stored only locally or transmitted to the data centre allowing an ex-post reporting of the trips.
- Generation of Traffic Data
Generating traffic data out of tracking and tracing records can be provided from past records (historical data: trip statistics) or online (traffic jam detection, input predictive traffic models) in which case the time delay is critical.
